HISTORY – BEGINNING OF TEELON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, ONNE
The beginning of Teelon International school (Teen as Trinity international school) is traceable back at September 1995, setting in at the NAFCON ESTATE ONNE, Nigeria. Prior to which time, it was an expatriate M.W. Kellog approved school for expatriate children (Americans and British).
The school on inception was populated by eight (8) pupils and a teacher: The visioner – Mrs Elizabeth Otobotekere Geoge and one Miss Christina Kinane who was assisting.
By the year 1996, the school population grew and there was need for more teaching staff as well as classrooms accommodation. The NAFCON authority gave approval for extension in the number of classrooms after Mrs. Geoge (the visioner) request for.
More seasoned staff members where hired, including the likes of the pioneer dynamic school head Mr. Emmanuel Nwinabiimene Vidaa – That was in 1996.
More so the school was approved by the Government, Hence by 1998, the school had faired up to primary 6 and by 1999 hatched her pioneer First School Leaving (primary 6) graduands cum End-of session ceremony.
By the 2009/10 school year, the school had tutored her pioneer Junior Secondary School One (1) following years of clamor and in line with government new UBE policy.
By the school year 2014, the school had baked its pioneer Junior Secondary graduates at National Examination Council Basic Education Certificate Exam -NECO-BECE. It bagged result in flying colours, coming out tops as (one of) the best in Rivers state.
The Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) pioneer student where also baked year 2016. Also in flying colours.
Furthermore the school which is mottored; “training to impact the world” has grown tremendously over the years nurturing the younger generation cognitively, psycho-motively and affectively in a manner that is next to none and it rings a bell in every household in the society.
Seasoned-experienced teachers and staffers of diverse specialization make up the rank and file of school’s workforce.
Teaching and learning facilities of world-class are not in absence at the school-facilities that match and suit the recommended standard by government and educational regulatory bodies in the land.
The school had ever since June 2007 moved out from its location of origin the NAFCON estate .This was necessitated by the liquidation of the NAFCON and the compound metamorphosis into the present day Notore Chemicals ltd.
TIS acquired and relocated into its present location by September 2008, This was not without its interim accommodation at the Onne Youth Development Center from June 2007 up to July 2008.
Finally, it is not over saying that the Teelon International school from very beginning was established by God himself (as shown in her original name: Trinity International school), the school was geared to meet a specific need that arose at the time, and is continuously providing our younger generation with excellent selfless academic service.
